ABSTRACT

A taxonomic revision and redescription of the genus Eurymesosa Breuning, 1938 are presented, including a key to species. Three of the five currently accepted species are considered valid: Eurymesosaventralis (Pascoe, 1865), Eurymesosaallapsa (Pascoe, 1866) and Eurymesosaziranzhiyi Yamasako & Lin, 2016. Three junior synonyms are proposed for E.ventralis: Eurymesosaalbostictica Breuning, 1962, syn. nov., Eurymesosaaffinis Breuning, 1970, syn. nov., and Eurymesosamultinigromaculata Breuning, 1974, syn. nov. Additionally, E.allapsa (Pascoe, 1866) is resurrected from synonyms of E.ventralis. Females of E.allapsa and E.ziranzhiyi Yamasako & Lin, 2016 are described for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Gaoligong Mountains in Yunnan, China are famous for the biodiversity and are part of Indo-Burmese hotspot. We present a review on the comb-tailed spider genus Hahnia C.L. Koch 1841 based on newly collected specimens. Four new species of Hahnia are described: H. biapophysis sp. nov. (male), H. dongi sp. nov. (male), H. subsaccata sp. nov. (male, female) and H. wangi sp. nov. (male, female). Two additional known species are redescribed: H. himalayaensis Hu & Zhang, 1990 and H. musica Brignoli, 1978. Hahnia musica previously known from Bhutan is recorded from China for the first time. Photos of habitus and genitalia of all species and additionally illustrations of new species are given.

ABSTRACT

Eryssamena was erected by Bates (1884) based on three species E. saperdina, E. acuta and E. spinidorsis, which Breuning (1977) recognised to be the same species: Eryssamena saperdina Bates, 1884. Although Eryssamena had been accepted as an independent genus for a long time, Kusama & Takakuwa (1984) and Hashimoto (2008) considered it as a subgenus of Rondibilis Thomson, 1857. Holzschuh (2003) treated Eryssamena as a synonym of the nominotypical subgenus. Ohbayashi & Niisato (2007) and Löbl & Smetana (2010) considered Eryssamena as a synonym of Rondibilis. We have found that the Laotian Eryssamena similis Breuning, 1965 is a secondary homonym of Rondibilis similis Gahan, 1907. According to the Art 57.3.1 of ICZN (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1999), we hereby propose the replacement name Rondibilis subquadrinotata nom. n. for Eryssamena similis Breuning, 1965. The lectotype and a paralectotype are designated for Rondibilis similis Gahan, 1907.
